Bridging the Gap games was created as a result of Oliver playing chess with his grandfathers virtually during COVID. Every Saturday he would schedule a time to play. They both improved their chess game, but that was secondary to spending time with each other.
Bridging the Gap Games, founded in the summer of 2021, is a small organization based in Dutchess County, New York. We are a group of local high school students who volunteer at the Fountains, a retirement community in Millbrook, New York. We spend time with the residents, playing board games, card games and chess.
We are a community-based organization focused on bridging the generational gap through games. With the help of our volunteers, we are able to bring together local residents for the purpose of building and strengthening relationships across various age groups.
Do you want to volunteer with us or start your own group? We are always looking for volunteers to help us make our vision a reality. We'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you. Join the Bridging the Gap team!
Thank you for volunteering your time, and for spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
